The Young Investigator Workshop (YIW) is the hallmark event of the EuChemS Division of Organic Chemistry. It promotes and recognises academic excellence in organic chemistry within (and outside) Europe. The EuCheMS member societies can nominate one young investigator among their members for participation in the workshop. Participation in the workshop is typically limited to about 30 attendees as this restricted number ensures the highest quality output as well as interaction between participants.
The Young Investigator Workshop for 2026 (YIW2026) will take place in Brussels on 10-11 July 2026, with support from the Société Royale de Chimie (Belgian Royal Chemical Society) and the Solvay Institutes for Chemistry and Physics. The workshop is organised just before the 10th EuChemS Chemistry congress (ECC10, Antwerp, 12-16 July 2026) and the participation of all the YIW 2026 participants at the 10th EuChemS Chemistry congress is also highly recommended.
Dr. Hennie Valkenier-van Dijk (Université libre de Bruxelles) and Prof. Ludovic Troian-Gautier (UCLouvain) will take care of the local organisation on behalf of the KVCV/SRC Division of Organic and Bio-organic Chemistry.
